Michael Mitzvah Month

 

An annual event in memory of Michael Prozucki in which the temple community gathers to perform mitzvot.  There have been a number of different activities over the years, including beach clean-up with Heal the Bay, clean-up at Wilderness part, writing letters to soldiers, and knitting. The key activity sponsored is a luncheon and boutique for the needy.  

Blood Drives

 

In conjuction with the Red Cross Temple Menorah sponsors 3 to 4 blood drives a year.  The Red Cross collects and donates about 40% of the blood used in our nation's hospitals.  They make it easy for you to help save a life. 

Family Promise

 

Family Promise of the South Bay helps newly homeless families with support.  We support them with ad hoc projects

Shall Family Feeding the Needy

 

On the fourth Thursday of every other month, in conjunction with a local church, Temple Menorah members prepare and serve of lunch to local community members in need.

Habitat for Humanity

 

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.  Since its founding Habitat LA has built, rehabilitated and repaired more than 700 homes locally.

Children's Law Center of California (CLCC)

 

CLCC provides services for all the foster children in Los Angeles County. We support their schools supply and holiday toy drives

The Tikkun Olam Social Action Committee seeks to promote opportunities for Temple Menorah members to commit to and integrate charitable actions (mitzvot) into our daily lives
